Yellow-edged Cadlina

Description 2

Ground color cream to very pale yellow. Dorsal tubercles tipped with lemon yellow, and a band of similar color on the dorsal and ventral surfaces of mantle margin and also on edge of foot. Rhinophores with 15-18 cream to light yellow lamellae. Branchial plumes 6, bipinnate, cream to light yellow. Labial tentacles auriform. The rounded tubercles on the dorsum and shorter rhinophores distinguish this species from the rarer Acanthodoris hudsoni which has longer rhinophores and pointed papillae on the dorsum.

Size 2

Typically about 25mm in length, but may reach 74mm.

Geographic Range 2

Lynn Canal, AK, to Punta Eugenia, Baja California, Mexico.

Notes 2

Preys on sponges such as Halichondria panicea, Higginsia sp. & Myxilla incrustans.
