This moss was medium length and bright green in color. It heavily covered the fallen logs on the ground and was on the base of some of the living trees. It was slightly wet and soft and covered the logs like a blanket. It peeled off of the logs very easily. Very small bugs were found living in the moss.
Very common in our area! The bottom was brown of course and the top had a green/yellow color to it. Moss was also found on the trees but was only on the side of the tree that the sunlight reached.

The clover mites were extremely small and very hard to see. They were bright red suggesting that the only ones we found were very young. They were found on logs especially under them when they were upturned. There were many of them although not all of them were noticeable due to their small size. None were found on the upright trees only on the fallen logs on the ground.
The snail is on the ground all pulled back into his shell, and when extended looks like his eyes are sticking out like antenna. The shell has a multicolored spiral design that camouflaged him well
Caught above the blackberry bushes
There were many of these fungi on the back of a fallen log. They were creamy white, round and about 1 in in diameter.

Pin point-sized, little red bug with hexagonal shaped body. Observed using aspirator on one of our sword ferns.
This bug was not very large but was also not too small to identify. It had a very clear red striped pattern that made it easy to identify. The rest of its body was a grayish brown and it had prominent legs sticking out to the sides. It was found on the forest floor on top of logs.
