flaking reddish tinted bark (color perhaps due to rainfall)
leaves in clusters of 3 at ends of small branches
one primary vein with smaller veins extending off

branches quite bare until the ends
this species looks different than my previous observation of the japanese yew (?)

needles emerge 360 degrees around the stem rather than at 2 180 degree lines
more woody, thick stems towards bottom
slightly lighter green coloration
Tree about 15 feet tall that is coniferous with small soft needles
Short plant with large 5 cornered purple flowers with smaller leaves
