Hoping for a species ID from someone knowledgeable about these.
Unsure. I've never seen a red one in this location. ID suggests Opalescent Nudibranch, but I've only ever seen it in the orange/blue coloration. I'm no expert, I'm just an enthusiast so excuse if I have an incorrect ID.
Bigger than I was expecting!
Common low on the rocks inside the breakwater. Shells of this species used to be commonly found stacked up on the rocks on top of the breakwater as fishermen often used them for bait.
I have never seen one of these! One of the kids found it in a big tide pool! None of the iNaturalist suggestions look anything like it.
