Switch the map into satellite view and zoom in, you will see the pin on a boat. That's the boat I was on, anchored there overnight. This moth was perched on the wall of a room lit overnight.
A rufous-winged ground-cuckoo (Neomorphus rufipennis) encountered in the rainforest in the Surama region, Guyana.
This juvenile was sitting on a branch about 3m above ground and just "froze" as I got closer. I took a few photos and left, while the bird did not move at all. I guess it is a survival technique (pretending to be a branch)?
Commonly seen, at least one pair nesting
Observed during most visits in May/June with at least two other females. Mostly encountered within 200m of the same area. Male Golden Dove (Chrysoena luteovirens)
