Description

This adorable snail with an orange foot and tortoise-patterned shell was observed among a patch of algae in the exposed wet sand of the intertidal zone.

Description

These clams were observed most prevalently in a distinct band along the shore. This pattern of distribution likely varies by tidal conditions, moving along the moisture gradient to support the best conditions for suspension feeding.

Description

This gull was seen picking through the sand in the intertidal zones of the sandy beach. With it's beak, it picked up what was either a piece of algae or a worm.
