This adorable snail with an orange foot and tortoise-patterned shell was observed among a patch of algae in the exposed wet sand of the intertidal zone.

This gull was seen picking through the sand in the intertidal zones of the sandy beach. With it's beak, it picked up what was either a piece of algae or a worm.

Found at surf line, with small waves still washing over it. Appears to have died more recently.

Found during low, Spring tide in high-intertidal zone near entrance to tide pools in the "shade" of a rock.

Found during low, Spring tide in mid-intertidal zone. Huge bundles of surf grass mixed with some algae in tidal pools of about 4 inches of water.

Found under a large rock which lied on top of sand in the low intertidal zone.

Found on dried out rock in the mid or high intertidal zone.

Observed growing vigorously in mid and lower intertidal pool. Was observed offering shelter for small fish.

Found in a riffle, about 20 centimeters deep. It was about 15 centimeters from the shores.
