On paperbark trunk.
Dozens of them on what I think is a paperbark tree?
A lot of the island’s beautiful old paperbarks (and some of the younger ones too) are looking very sad. Having lost all their leaves. Some also unfortunately look dead (see past pic) Wondering if it could be something to do with this larvae? The tree it was found on is thankfully doing ok. It’s a very large paperbark - see 2nd last picture. Thoughts from the inaturalist community much appreciated.
Found on dying paperbark trees. Many holes in the trunk, could these caterpillars be the cause?
