At the LA County Arboretum only 200-250 meters west of the main parking lot. Not sure if it's Quercus lobata or Quercus robur, as while it is clearly old, it may have been originally cultivated. Lots of basal sprouting.
Trichomes on new leaves almost look like a different tree, to the point where I wonder if there was a different tree tucked in there. Evidence for QB and QDG imo. Unless the scraggly trichomes are from a separate tree. Oof.
strange looking oak leaves, not quite valley oak, not quite blue oak. No acorns visible, no oak galls either.
