sheltering from rain, male in front of window was courting
Two wood pigeons feeding off bush then Tuis scared them off
Another one close by in a tree to my left
Two flying one landed in tree
Went out in light rain to look for the three regular kererū. Couldn't see them, but did find them.
The first one, the one that is often sitting alone, was in a stand of Lillypillies to the south of our property, just perched and not doing anything. Under the branches and well hidden.
The second two, were in the Lillypillies near the barn... doing the same, just perching, while the branches were blown up and down by the wind. Sitting about a couple of meters apart. Observed them for 20 minutes and when I stopped, each of the three was still in the same place.
There are only two really decent patches of berries left on the trees. I'm wondering if they'll come back at all once the berries are gone. There's a bit of a gap between these berries and the next food I know they love.
in house probably from firewood. Possibly a nymph of the Gisborne cockroach
