Description

This microscopic organism has an armor like cell wall with two distinctive horns. The green distinctive body is due to photosynthetic pigment that is used to produce food. This organism was found by collecting pond water at Castor Beach, located in the University of South Florida in Tampa. This organism prefers to live in the upper regions of the water where sun light is the strongest. Domain Eukaryota,
SAR, Alveolata, Phylum Dinoflagellata, Class Dinophyceae, Order Gonyaulacales, Family Ceratiaceae, Genus Ceratium.
