These amazing creatures were flying above the water in along the edge of Black Walnut Creek in Jug Bay Natural Area of Patuxent River Park. They held their striped legs out radially when flying (something like x-wing fighters in Star Wars) but aligned several legs when they lit on plant. Pictures don't capture their flight.
