Brief Note:
Small to medium tree. Bole columnar and often flute, bark whitish grey, smooth. Young twig pubsescens; petiole double swollen, pubescent. Leaves alternate spiral, ovate to elliptic, apex acuminate, base rounded, slightly cordate & peltate, uppersurface dark green, undersurface dull, trinerved, tertiary venation scalariform, margin slightly serrate. Infructescens axilar. Fruit with 3 protuberance like star shaped.
Habitat:
One of truly riparian species that formed riparian vegetation, some have formed nearly pure stand locally that have relatively tall columnar bole, another individual that grew single scattered at riverbank usually have gnarled habit.
Found on the side of a road. Color varies from red to green.
