Description

Large cluster of woody shrub growing from multiple stems to about 5'10". Soil not particularly moist. Leaves very aromatic, almost minty.

Description

Low growing herb, short stem, short internodes. Heart shaped cordate leaves, dentate margin. Flower bilateral and has 5 white petals, the backside of the top two are purple. Purple and yellow coloration around pistil. Stamen fused to petals. Leaves and petiole are covered in fine puberulent hairs. Wide and deep root system.

Description

In a sunny poorly maintained planted area. Growing below a single redwood tree and with other non-native decorative bushes. Not close to any stress and is not watered by a sprinkler system. The hypanthium is shallow, the flower has 20-30 stamens, and its fruit is achenes.

Description: Abundant at collection site. Variable size from 6ft shrub to 50ft+ tree. Aromatic smell. Leaves alternate, entire, shiny and oblong. Small flowers arranged in umbel shape, whitish green perianth with yellow stamen. Brown hard fruit present. Bark light gray/tan. Growing near redwoods and oaks. Few if any surrounding understory plants. #117
