Description

Large soft white flower. The Saddle.

No idea. There were several but sparsely scattered growing near stream beds throughout the saddle. When I got up there at about 11.00 they was still not fully open, and I left about an hour later, when I took the pic, so I am guessing that they only open in the afternoons. The flower was about 4inches across, and very soft.

A stemless leaf-succulent with several branches at the base. The dark brown-green leaves have white margins with no teeth. The leaves have white spots. These plants grow in the shelter of bigger plants making them very difficult to find until they flower.

MMK notes that it is a dense woody shrublet rather than a willowy one. Have the varieties been subsumed? The Red list seems to only have radiata, but I have seen variety glabra and variety ericetorum on the internet.
