Found this huge wolf spider (16 mm body length, 57 mm legspan) under the bark of a large snag. Was disappointed my shots didn't come out better, but the light was bad. Pretty sure of the family on the basis of the eye pattern, but haven't been able to ID it further.
Tiny spider (about the size of a nickel) crawling on log along Valley Creek Trail.
This spider has a web about 2' in diameter in my garden. The web is two-dimensional and approximately round in shape. The spider was resting at the center of its web with an item underneath it. Initially I thought the item was an egg sac but upon closer inspection it seems to be a prey item that the spider has wrapped.
This spider is so tiny, it seemed like just a different spot of color on the wild carrot.
Found inside at my office.
While collecting mantis egg cases in meadow, I found one with a red, bulky resident mite. It crawled around on the surface of the case for a bit as I took some photos, then relocated it's entrance hole and went inside.
Found this guy crawling around on a piece of dead wood. Velvet mites are truly beautiful little arachnids.
On the wall in the stairwell of the Administration building. Maybe one inch in length.
