It has enough for me not to think domestic dog. The claws are not tilted in. That fifth digit is visible in the print while with most dogs that is up the leg. My other guess is American Badger. I'll put that. According to Mammals for Texas they are found throughout the state.
This was by the bridge by the river. THe cement is the bridge. I walked along and turned. Tracks recent as mud wet to the touch.
This was after hard rain the week before. Normally there is a lot of ground to walk on. Now only a little and went up above my ankles. What I liked about this one was how the claws are so clear.
Parking lots seem to be the preferred foraging grounds for this species now.
