Description

largest cap 15.5 cm wide; stipe 17 cm plus "root" , 1cm wide at cap, 1.3 cm near root. All stipes are dark purplish brown, gills are white, attached, broad, flesh is thin white . White spores photographed on yellow paper. These were not not easy to dig up in my neighbours lawn (in my lawn I would use a shovel). Small specimens prepared to show centre stipe, also stipes are twisted. Taste mild, perhaps a bit acidic. Using compare , see dark stems among the photos from others.
