I believe these are on a dead willow in a wet area near the boardwalk at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. I could not access the tree for a view of the underside of the cap.

Fruiting on the cut end of a fallen Alnus rubra.
Harvested 12 specimens attached to portion of host/substrate.
Analyzed/photographed large setae at home with Apexel 12/24X macro lens attachment.
Performed crush mount of tissue in Lugol’s solution and 3% KOH.
MICROSCOPY:
Spores: multiguttulate(multiple small granular dots/granules within each spore). Elliptical, ovoid. Spores slightly wrinkled/verrucose. Medium/large in size.
Asci: 8 spored, cylindrical. Non-amyloid.
Setae: spear like, very large, with a single septa(notch) in center of most analyzed(biseptate).
Paraphyses: With SWOLLEN APICES.
Dehydrating all specimens folded in tissue for herbarium collection/genetic record.

Harvested multiple specimens and breaded/dried with pulverized Ritz crackers, flour, garlic powder and porcini salt.

Brittle Cinder (Kretzschmaria deusta)Observer

Young Spring season asexual phase fruiting on a heavily waterlogged/decorticated hardwood. Acer macrophyllum surrounding area.
Harvested 2 specimens.
Analyzed/photographed grayish powdery surface with Apexel macro lens attachment at 24X.
Removed small paper thin layers of outer tissue and mounted on a glass slide in 3% KOH.
MICROSCOPY:
Conidia: tear drop shaped(Lacrymoid) to elongate/fusiform. Hyaline and thin walled(translucent in KOH).
Produced from dense bundles of cylindrical irregularly shaped elements/columns.
