Description

Warrior's Plume (Pedicularis densiflora) Native, hairy, parasitic plant in the Orobanchaceae family that grows on the shallow roots of other plants, like Manzanita. Formerly called Indian Warrior. The leaves are fernlike and soft, with toothed bracts. Stems are hairy. Tubular flowers are maroon-fuchsia-red. This native plant is a Hummingbird favorite. Peak bloom time: Feb-March.
