Unknown plant just arrived this year in our garden and no one has ever seen it before. Any help in ID would be much appreciated. Boston, MA, USA

Prunus virginiana Leaf spot. 2021100309.

This organism grows year round near the opening to our septic tank. No grass grows here but the ground is usually moist.

I’ve never seen this produce flowers before. As a child, I used to call it “wild carrots” and try to pick the complete root that looks like a skinny, white carrot.

Found growing on old roots and under leaves on damp, shady ground.
