Brought to me by a former student who works at a restaurant in downtown Edmonton that shall remain nameless. Colour pattern seems consistent with the western black widow, but Edmonton seems a bit far north, and dispersal via a shipment of fresh fruit or vegetables from further south seems possible, even likely. Body length is about 5-6mm (excluding legs), which I believe makes her a juvenile.
