A female Redonda bordoni known as one of the few "brachypterous" butterflies of the Venezuelan andes. Wings are strongly reduced and deformed, compared to males, it appears to be uncapable of sustainable flight, and instead creeps on the ground of the windy and cold Páramos.
This specimen was found near one of the lagoons of the Páramo el Rosario, at 3400 m, and kept in captivity for two days.
Found during a joint expedition of the Laboratorio de Ecología Espacial, IVIC, and Inparques-Táchira
