The only one blooming so far (that I saw)
Lots of Valley Lessingia blooming now in the fire roads, trails, and other open spaces at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station. The plants have a strong, distinctive odor.
Short and wirey plant, growing in disturbed habitat (likely formerly alluvial chaparral), just W of the parking lot of the Lowes on Route 66, in Upland, CA. Habitat is in the historical area of the alluvial fan of San Antonio Canyon, upslope in the San Gabriel Mountains. Coin used for scale is a US quarter dollar (¢25 piece), 24.26 mm, 0.955 inch in diameter.
