Rosette of soft leaves between 3cm and 4cm across, stalk extending up to 7cm up or away from rosette. Distinctive Fabales flower. Soil was saturated at this site; the plant grew directly on the bank of a periodically flooded swamp and certainly would be inundated after rain. The plant was growing next to bald cypress and among a moss similar in appearance to sphagnum.
I observed an insect at Castor Beach. It's digging into the sand, but I am not sure why.
