Seen at Double Rock Park!Unsure if this guy is a gray's treefrog or not; the pattern looks different. Thoughts?
📷 Photo is from my friend who was with me, posted with permission!
My mom told me she's been seeing wolf spiders in the basement, but I didn't believe her. Today she called me down saying there was a spider.
Welp, sorry mom. Released safely!
Bad photo (screenshot from a video) but there was a Woodpecker in my tree pecking at the branches! Mostly black and white with red on the top of their head, about the size of house sparrows at the feeder.
Very bad pictures of some squirrels I saw chirping at each other in Gettysburg Military Park! They were making the cutest noises 🐾
Egg mass on ailanthus. Scraped off and dispatched.
Found on the side of Harford Road. I haven't seen this plant before!
Sorry for the bad quality, but does anyone know what this insect pollinating my alumroot could be? They look vaguely like a cranefly, but from what I know they rarely eat.
• Size: Small, smaller than the nearby bumblebees but nearly as long.
• Color: Most were a brownish color, this one was more blue.
• Behavior: Very quick at flying and appeared to fight with each other multiple times. There were a lot of them, at least 10, all on this one alumroot.
Very interesting plant outside our hotel!
There were two or three dead baby birds on the sidewalk (likely killed by an animal), but I can't figure out the species. In thinking it may be a Baltimore Oriole, but I haven't seen any around at all this year.
I noticed:
• There is what I think is a piece of eggshell on its bottom which is white, not blue.
• The beak is gray and pointed, so it isn't a blackbird.
• It's slightly yellow on its belly, but this may be from the sun or sidewalk.
• I didn't measure, but it seems to be about 2 to 4 inches long.
Thoughts please?
On one of the water paths at Holland Park, probably left by a bird.

It's getting warmer, so the bugs are back! This guy was in my room.
Beautiful hornet ended up in my kitchen after a storm. It got out safely and headed back to the woods.
I think this is a queen, but I may be wrong!
