Standing in one of my daughter's front yard looking for the two Red-shouldered Hawks I had seen 15 minutes earlier (when I didn't have my camera) when I saw 4 separate flocks of Double-crested Cormorants coming from different directions. They didn't join together, but when they got close they all turned and headed west. Actually, I did see a couple break off from one flock and join up with a different flock. My assumption, as it was late in the afternoon, is they had all been out and about foraging for food during the day and were all headed back to the same place for the night. - Never did see the Hawks again.
