Description

Description:
This dragon fly appeared to be 1-2 inches long. Its eyes were a dark blue color. Combined, the eyes were about the size of a pea. The thorax along with the abdomen were a bright, light blue color. The thorax had black stripes and the abdomen had black abdominal sections on it. Its 4 wings were a light black color and appeared very thin. The tip was also a light blue, which indicated it was a male.
Habitat:
Found flying around a marshy area near a pond behind an apartment complex in Tampa, FL. These are usually found in the eastern United States and are found near vegetated and bog-bordered ponds. It is known in Wisconsin to have a flight season of mid-May to early October.

My Protostome is a Dragonfly which I think might be the Blue Skimmer. The dragonfly was around 2 inches long and had a dark blue body with 4 clear wings and the center of the body had traces of light brown. I found the dragonfly on a bush in my front yard and this would be a suburban environment with the nearest manmade structures being houses.
