Description

Cap dry. Found amongst the roots of dead eucalyptus trees. ~5-7 days after soaking rain.

Mild smell “pleather”, no obvious staining of stipe or cap, flesh or hymenium. One sample found growing in a tuft of grass had mild yellow staining of lower stipe flesh and a slightly “hay” off scent.

Fresh taste is very mildly bitter and spongy / mushy texture.

A single significantly large specimen was found cap 18 cm diameter, stipe 4 cm diameter by 12 cm long. Most are ~half these dimensions.
