Description

This dogwinkle is noted by its thick and plump shell from other snails. Its grey, black, and white striped banding pattern allows it to be distinguished from the Northern Channelled Dogwinkle (Nucella canaliculata), and the Northern Lined Dogwinkle (Nucella analoga analoga). Furthermore, the interior of its aperture is often purple (ostrinus = purple).
