Lovely Red Pierrtos
We have been observing a group of three to four Red Pierots throughout the day in the home garden from September to October 2020 (Sri Lanka). They could be seen around in the garden any time on the day . They are still here in the garden throughout this November 2020 also; in the month i thought of recording the observation. None of the butterflies stayed this long for the past year.
Some of them have faded in colour; their brighter red colour has become pale orange and the wings worn-out. However, few of brighter ones also there.
Once the Red Pierrot perched on a leaf or a flower, they seemed to be quiet, it didn't fly away far. So a photo friendly butterfly i would say. :)
They also seemed to perch on a variety of plants in the garden. (eg: Kamaranka leaves, Monarakudumbiya, nil katarolu, grass
