Nice sunny early autumn day. Saw an orb weaver feeding on the largest prey I've witnessed so far apart from butterflies but butterflies aren't that big when you don't count the wings. Lots of bumble bees!

I've never walked the whole Schlosspark before, so that was nice! It's fall soon, the weather was somewhere in between sunny and warm and merely 17°C at times. I found the perfect meadow where a mayyybe rather young fox walked, played and hunted critters in the tall grass.
In addition it's gall week right now, so I actively looked for galls. On one tree I found Striped Pea Gall Wasp galls, Cherry Gall Wasp galls and Oak Artichoke Gall Wasp galls next to each other. Exiciting stuff going on in the world of galls.
Also after misidentifying other spiders as conical for years, I finally found a Conical Trashline Orbweaver. Very conical.

Went to check out some paths at Schönauer Lachen with @mobbini today, it was really nice. We saw quite a few geese and herons flying across and more insects than the stormy weather right before the start of autumn would have suggested.
Dry 21-24°C after some rain the day before
I walked the Bison trail as advertised on the website of the farm: https://bison-wermsdorf.de/home/kontakt/bison-rundweg/ Can't really recommend. I was lucky, the bisons just walked past the small area where one can actually view them in their enclosure. The area is so vast, that there is a good chance you won't see them at all. The whole way back is just (now in September) harvested "dead" fields.
The larger paths in the forest were covered in dead dung beetles, I only found 2 still alive. Sorbus aucuparia hung full of the characteristic red berries throughout the whole forest.
It was cool seeing the bisons, though.
I finally found the time to visit Tote Täler, a national park / conservation area in Saxony-Anhalt where they keep semi-wild Konik horses, a breed bred to resemble the wild horses living in that area up until the mid 1700s. Turns out that the horse manure covering the ground provides prime living conditions for several vulnerable species of dung beetles, butterflies, flies and other insects, so I had a blast finding lots of species I'd never seen before. I also found the herd of wild horses, they were very chill. I walked from Großwilsdorf to Freyburg and skipped the orchid path.

Sunny & warm. Never been in that stretch of the woods before. Lots of people paddling by, lots of bicycle riders, lots of people walking their dogs. Still nice.
@mobbini and I spent a nice afternoon being yelled at by coots at the pond, looking for little grebe offspring. around 27°C, partly sunny, dry, very summer-y. No mosquitos and other biting and sucking insects whatsoever which was a bit weird.
Later on I went to look for some more bugs at forest stretch from Rosental up to the main street, met a deer, lots of bank voles and a robin that was too well hidden for photos.

27°C, sun setting soon. The meadow was extremely noisy with crickets and cicada and every other plant was covered in couples of Rhagonycha fulva mating.
Cloudy and tropical 24°C, bit of a drizzle from time to time
There was a lot going on in that small part of the forest. I saw THE Tanner and quite a lot of bagworms. A cucumber spider male getting angry at his own reflection and a crab spider that never even noticed me and just did her thing.
