Day 5

5-12-17

-Partly Cloudy
-9:35

We went to CCG to check our traps, and Olivia's team found raccoon tracks in their trap!
The mink trail cam had dead batteries, so we took it back to recharge. We saw a milk snake in the water again, and as we went along the stream, we saw lots of tracks: Turkey, moose, deer, raccoon, and some that could have been a fox!

Day 4

Rainy, high waters.

Went to stream to upload deer cam

checked other cams and traps, and we found no prints.

We did see what was probably a milk snake swimming in the pond though.

Day 3 (I missed day 2, but there was no prints on any traps)

4-18-17

-Cloudy
-8:32

We found pictures of a mink (or weasel) in the mink trail cam, so the camera team won't relocate it.

We then went to our trap, and it was gone! There were lots of flattened grasses and brush piled up on trees, so we think it was a flash flood. We later found the tattered remains of our trap.

Day 1

3-24-17

Time: 11:30 - 2:00
Target: Mink
Location: lewis Creek
Bait: Tuna
Some Snow
Prints: No mink, but there were some medium tracks that we could not identify.

Once we found our location, we got the trap, camouflaged it, and left.
The trap has powdered chalk that sticks to the feet of the animals, then they walk over tacky paper to leave prints.
Notes: good place for mice, so a mink would come and hunt there, and lots of fallen trees over the river; a good place for mice to feed.
