The Great Blue Heron typically can be found in Wetlands all over Central America and the United States. The bird is typically between 45 and 54 inches tall and has a wingspan of 66-79 inches. They can be identified by their slate-grey feather that include hints of black and white feather that cover their back and nearly white faces. They are specifically characterized by the sinuous neck that is covers in long plume like feathers and thick, dagger like bills. These bills combine with their long legs makes them a part of the Ardea family.
