Description

So far this is the only Hong Kong butterfly whose whole life cycle I have documented in photos. Egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, freshly emerged and not yet able to fly, butterfly in action, on ground and nearing death, dead body.

It is one of the most spotted species of butterfly for me, although there was a period of nearly a year when I only saw a couple of examples, and then only during a trip to a part of the New Territories I don’t normally visit.
