These Western Velvety Tree Ants were all over this Carob Tree as usual. These ones were also crawling over the remains of a Western Hardwood Sulphur Shelf mushroom.

Description

There were five or six rove beetles on a large decomposing mushroom. They were very skittish and most of them hid when I walked up. The mushroom was too decomposed for me to identify.

Description

I found this fly at the base of a Western Sycamore, next to a colony of decayed and dried out mushrooms. It was very tame, allowing me to get very close without moving, though after a few minutes it did start walking around.
The 6th image shows a size comparison to my pointer finger.

Description

I found this Turkestan Cockroach nymph on a buried and decomposing mushroom cap, presumably eating it.

When I picked the mushroom and moved its veil, the cockroach ran out and fell onto the ground, startling me.

Description

This Rove Beetle (top middle of pic 1) was on a piece of a Western Hardwood Shelf mushroom that had fallen to the ground. The mushroom was previously attached to the trunk of a watered Carob Tree. I just noticed its presence in the photos today.

This Whirligig Mite was on a mushroom. It began eating some maggots in the mushroom.

Description

These maggots were inside a mushroom, presumably eating it. A Whirligig Mite came along and started eating one of them. I was photographing the Mite and didn't see the tiny maggots at the time.
