Comments

What is this datatype meant for? Is it meant to be like 'growth-form' with choices: tree - shrub - herb?

Posted by loarie over 11 years ago

@loarie: I note that the creator of the field has not used it on any of their observations, and in general it has been used to repeat the species of the plant. It is a 'ghost' field that people keep adding to new projects before they realise it is unnecessary.

Posted by tony_wills about 8 years ago

A quick analysis of the field values shows that apart from variations of the tree species and yes,no,n/a a few have the values:
Bush
Deciduous
Evergreen
Flower
Grass
Hardwood
Log
Shrub
Tree

But not many.

Posted by tony_wills about 8 years ago

Hmm. It's been remarkably successful for a field with such vague requirements. @artemis, could we at least turn it into a field with a yes/no drop-down list to remove the variation in how people are using it?
