Description

Some kind of mistletoe. It's growing on juniper. Unsure if it's Juniper Mistletoe however. Mostly because, the juniper mistletoe I've so far observed hasn't had much in the way of leaves.

Vivid Dancer (Argia vivida)

Observer

Date

Description

I noticed that most of the dragonflies that I observed in this location had what looked like small red eggs on the bottom of the thorax. I suspected a parasite of some kind. Found this reference: https://faculty.ucr.edu/~chappell/INW/arthropods/vividdancer.shtml
They are not eggs but parasitic water mites.

The water near the observation site is flowing in the spring but gets stagnant by late summer and I suspect it may be contaminated or a destination for run-off from the housing development located above it.
