Observations by cfears

I've had a large pile of pine needled in the corner of my backyard, for probably about a year and half. In the past 2 months I've started putting it in the compost bins, and that's when I noticed bees were living in the pile. They are very non aggressive, I am slowly chipping away at their home and they don't even attack me. Some of them have trouble flying??
