BACKGROUND:
Interested in nature since childhood days, I started my career of natural interest mainly with amphibians, had the chance to work with german reptiles and later studied spiders (sociality in Stegodyphus spiders) to cure myself from a slight arachnophobia, which turned into never ending awe and fascination for those amazing creatures.

I am orginally from Germany, lived and photographed in the ecuadorian Andes in 2019/20, lived in Cairo/Egypt 2020/21, lived in Colombia 2021-2024, and am back in Germany/Austria/Czech Republik since 2025 so my records are mainly from those places in the world.

I recently developed a special interest in lycosoidean spiders (wolf spiders, fishing spiders and allies) and am probably most knowledgeable about those.
