I've been a birder since the 1980s when at age 15 I bought a Peterson's field guide and began identifying birds while I walked my dogs in some undeveloped land behind my house in Tacoma, Washington. Well, career and family intervened so I could only intermittently keep it going over the next 35 years. I've been all over the US, in Europe, the Middle East, and Australia (I missed so many opportunities...oh well). Now, my children are grown or close to grown, so I'm getting back into it. I need a lot of help with ID - I appreciate the experts on this site...I'm not one. But, I'm enthusiastic and I try to take decent photos of what I see. Bird On.
