I have been a nature lover as long as I can remember and I love observing the wide variety of birds and animals northeast Ohio has to offer. I am an educator by trade and have my master's degree in Outdoor Education. My husband and I bought eighty acres and built our home on the outskirts of Streetsboro about fourteen years ago. As a nature lover, I hit the mother lode when we moved here. We are fortunate enough to own acreage that has a variety of habitats. The Cuyahoga River runs through a thick stretch of woods all along the back of our property. We also have a large lake, numerous ponds and hay fields. We live upstream from Lake Rockwell, which has nesting eagles, so we have the opportunity to observe eagles pretty regularly along with osprey, blue heron, king fishers, green heron, various waterfowl and a broad range of birds, my favorite being the blue birds, which I am over the top in love with. We see fox, coyote, beaver, wild turkeys, deer, various snakes, frogs, toads, etc and have even heard a number of times (but never saw) what we are certain was a bobcat early on this past summer. Living here has allowed me to take my love of observing nature to a whole new level. We never know what might show up next.
