Miss McCormick grew up in what she likes to refer to as the "Naturalist Generation" (the 1980-1990's) where shows and movies centered around natural phenomena and animals (TMNT, ThunderCats, The Magic School Bus, Captain Planet, The Wild Thornberries, National Geographic pre-NatGeo and nature documentaries with David Attenborough, Bill Nye, Crocodile Hunter, etc.) inspired her and many in her generation to join the world of Biology. Growing up in rural northern Montana might have also played a part in shaping her interests, as there was a watery ditch home to a plethora of fauna just outside her backdoor for a number of years along with her involvement in constant outdoor activities that only those in very rural places might partake in, as there's nothing else to do but cook meth. She never partook in meth.

She has been and is still an undergrad student but feels that this has been a test of staying power and motivation - she truly wants nothing but to be a naturalist/conservationist/save-the-world-in-the-least/most-hippy-way-possible-ist. She isn't sure exactly why this is all in third person; she feels that perhaps it must have felt more appropriate at the start. She's quite dramatic and has embraced the fact that she is slightly off but that it sometimes piques people's interest.
