I am a Capital Area Master Naturalist (2021) and am interested in a variety of things: birds, butterflies, dragonflies, native plants, and rocks, but a beginner in all. I love to hike and notice as much as possible in nature. I started the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery-AMP project page during a 2-yr collaboration with the city which resulted in the designation of currently unused acreage being designated as a Wildflower Meadow. The goal of the Wildflower Meadow is to preserve (even temporarily) a greenspace ecosystem in the central city and to increase awareness and appreciation of such spaces. As a retired speech-language pathologist and dyslexia therapist, I am an educator at heart and am interested in encouraging others to learn and experience nature.
