I’m a queer nature nerd living in Northern Virginia. I do a lot of botanizing throughout Virginia, and I’m particularly interested in the flora of our increasingly rare grasslands. I have a strong interest in orthopterans, especially grasshoppers, as well as reptiles and amphibians, particularly salamanders. I’m also a big fan of the genus Smilax and ID a lot of Smilax observations. I am very much an amateur photographer.

I have an ever-growing backlog of photos I haven’t yet found the time to post to iNat. I will sometimes post many observations at a time without locations and go and add the locations later.

I mostly identify observations of orthopterans, but I also identify a lot of herp observations, and recently I’ve been identifying (or at least learning to identify) various myriapods, isopods, ants, beetles, and whatever other taxa catch my interest.
