I am a Professor Emeritus of Biology at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. I retired in August, 2019. My overall interests are in ecology and evolutionary biology. I am particularly interested in the foraging ecology of birds, the impacts of global climate change on the spring arrival of Maine migratory breeding birds, and the ecology of intertidal sandflats. I am one of the Coordinators of the Maine Butterfly Survey. I also have an interest in odonates, especially the coenagrionid damselflies and in syrphid flies.

At Colby, I taught the following courses: Diversity and Evolution, Ornithology, Marine Invertebrate Zoology, Marine Ecology and Winter Ecology (not all in one year!).
