Dr. James Vonesh, Associate Professor: I joined the VCU Biology faculty in January 2007 after post docs with Jon Chase at Washington University in Saint Louis’ Tyson Research Center and Karen Warkentin at Boston University. I did my graduate training under Craig Osenberg (PhD) and Harvey Lillywhite (MSc) in the Department of Zoology at the University of Florida and received my bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College. Born in Madang, Papua New Guinea, I spent my childhood between there and the USA. My research focuses on aquatic organisms with complex life cycles and seeks to understand how processes within life stages scale-up across stages to influence population and community ecology and linkages between aquatic and terrestrial systems.
