I am a G5 classroom teacher in Round Rock ISD and have used iNaturalist in my class for the past 4 years to catalog the nature that surrounds our campus (abutting the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve). I have presented on the use of iNaturalist in the classroom at various conferences and believe strongly in its effectiveness in helping to teach students how to become (better) field scientists. This account was created as the class account for my third block of students as they improve their understanding of the natural world and concepts of validity and reliability of results (observations) through repeated trials and the expertise of other scientists.
