Growing up in a small town in India meant that I had always been surrounded by various flora and fauna. Mammals and reptiles were what I was primarily interested in but not in any specific manner. However, I really only began to take a serious interest in logging my observations and trying to identify various specimens when, towards the end of 2021, during the pandemic, because I was working from home, I had the time to actually pay attention to the birds outside. As I got more into birding, I also started observing other animals more precisely and making notes, all of which led to creating an account on ebird and, now, one on iNaturalist.
