I hike every week, usually in the bay area. I try to find new waterfalls and wildflowers whenever possible.
When I was growing up in Connecticut, I often wandered around and used Gray's Manual a lot. I also did some botanizing in Wyoming, Baffin Island, and Prince William Sound.
I moved to the SF Bay Area in 1994, and bought the 1993 edition of the Jepson Manual. I didn't get outside often until about 2000. I slowly got more serious about exploring California. I went on a moderate number of CNPS field trips around 2004-2014.
I'm interested in finding a hiking partner who wants to combine a good deal of exercise with finding new flowers. I typically want to do 12-16 mile hikes (in 5 or 6 hours) within about an hours drive from Berkeley.
