I am a research scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. I did a PhD on Carex taxonomy (section Porocystis and friends), and have since worked on the taxonomy and conservation genetics of Vaccinium oxycoccos et al. (wild cranberries), Trichophorum planifolium (Few-Flowered Clubrush) and Celtis pumila (aka. Celtis tenuifolia, Dwarf Hackberry). I'm also working on projects with crops and crop wild relatives including Rhubarb (particularly in Labrador Inuit communities) and Camelina et al. I used to be a full-time field botanist in southern Ontario, and have done survey work across Canada and the eastern US .
